Mitch Epstein in The New Yorker and upcoming show at Yancey Richardson, Sept 8th

August 15, 2016

For the past two years, Mitch Epstein has been making large-format black-and-white photographs of rocks and clouds all over New York City. In “Clouds #67,” above, the steel frame of the Parachute Jump, a defunct ride in Coney Island, seems to bridge the sand and the sky. Epstein’s show “Rocks and Clouds” opens next month, at the Yancey Richardson gallery. – The New Yorker
