At Griffin Editions, we are pleased to provide top-quality pigment printing services with the same care and attention we give to all our photographic printing processes. We currently use archival grade inks and can print up to 64″ wide. We are constantly researching and developing new printing strategies including custom coatings and wallpaper murals.

We carry over 30 different paper stocks, including most Hahnemühle, Canson, Ilford, and Epson papers. If you’d like to print on a paper we don’t have in stock, we’re happy to source that paper for you. Please call or email us for further information on paper options.

Dye-Sublimation Printing

Dye-sublimation prints are a new medium where dyes are directly transferred onto an aluminum surface. The result is stunning with vibrant color and a unique dimensional quality. Sublimation is the process of a solid turning to gas and back to solid. We print with dyes onto unique transfer paper, then heat the paper and specially coated metal with high pressure and temperature in our custom press.

Dye-sublimation prints are durable because the dyes are below the coated surface, resulting in a fade and scratch resistant piece. The aluminum (.045 thickness) can stand alone, be backed with any of our substrates, braced or framed.

We offer both white and clear dye-sublimation prints. White prints have a white base, so the highlights are true to the image. Clear prints are transparent, in which the brushed metal shows through the highlights of the image. We offer matte, semi-matte, and glossy finishes for both white and clear prints.

We can print up to 48” x 96” on a single dye-sub panel. For larger images, we can print on multiple panels and seam them together.

 Laser-Exposed (LE) Silver Gelatin Printing

Griffin Editions worked exclusively with Ilford to develop this landmark process that combines the precision of digital imaging with the unrivaled richness of silver gelatin printing.

Using Ilford Galerie Multigrade fiber paper, we expose the paper with laser light from high-resolution digital files before we hand-process them in our darkrooms. This innovative approach to photographic printing provides all the benefits of modern technology with the allure of a traditional darkroom print.

Our LE prints can be made up to 56″ wide by 120″ long on neutral tone glossy paper. All LE prints include archival selenium toning.
