Michael Halsband at Saint Laurent

We started off the year at Griffin Editions with a collaboration with Michael Halsband for newly rebranded Saint Laurent storefronts in Paris and Los Angeles. In both stores a select group of his iconic portraits of Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat in boxing gear accompany a collection of Everlast active wear and accessories inspired by Michael’s 1985 photo shoot. This exhibition contains silver gelatin prints ranging from 11x14” to 50x60”, all printed from the original negatives, then mounted and framed in our Brooklyn studio. The artworks are framed with graphite-finished maple and heavy white borders below the images, creating a feel similar to a Polaroid photograph.
