Printing your image is only the beginning! At Griffin Editions, we know how important presentation is and are committed to helping you display your work in the best way possible. Whether you’re looking to mount a single image or an entire exhibition, our expert team of finishing professionals will work with you to meet your individual needs and specifications. Our goal is to create not only the most aesthetically sound artworks but also to devise creative solutions that meet rigorous specifications for quality and conservation.
Substrates
Griffin Editions offers mounting to a variety of substrate boards, which are archival and will keep your work flat, rigid, and protected. This is ideal for oversized works and any artwork that will be fitted into a close frame.
Sintra
Sintra is a PVC board that is lightweight, yet rigid and durable. Recommended for pigment prints under 40” x 60”. Available in black and white, 1/8” and 1/4”.
Dibond
Dibond is a composite material made of two thin sheets of archival quality aluminum with a poly resin core. A lightweight alternative to solid aluminum, it comes with a white coating, which gives your photo mount a smooth clean look. Available in 3mm and 4mm.
Aluminum
Aluminum is a popular choice for mounting substrate due to its aesthetic, archival, and supportive qualities. Recommended for c-prints, pigment prints, and fiber prints. Available in 1.5 and 2mm, regular mill or anodized finish.
Plexiglass
Acrylic Plastic, also known as plexiglass, is a useful, clear material that resembles glass, but offers better transparency and weighs 50% less than glass of equal thickness. Recommended for c-prints and pigment prints. Available in 1/8”, 1/4”, and 1/2”.
Museum Board
Museum Boards are manufactured with 100% cotton and are acid-free, pH neutral and buffered with calcium carbonate. Extraordinary preservation characteristics. Recommended for pigment prints and fiber prints, under 40” x 60”. Available in 1-ply, 4-ply, or 8-ply, black or white.
Foamcore
Foamcore consists of a polystyrene clad center layer sandwiched between two outer layers of white clay-coated, matte paper. It is economical, lightweight, and long lasting when displayed indoors. Recommended for pigment prints, under 30” x 40”.
Braces
Braces are an excellent way to display mounted works that do not require framing, such as dye-sub, face-mounted, and uv laminated prints. We have a variety of bracing options to accommodate your stylistic and functional needs.
Wood
Our standard wood braces have a 3/4” depth, 2” width, and are recessed 2” from the edge of the art, but can also be customized to your specifications. The top of the brace is beveled and a cleat is included for hanging.
Aluminum
Our standard aluminum braces are fabricated with 1”x1” aluminum tubing. Larger profiles available upon request. An L-angle is attached to the top of the brace and a cleat is included for hanging.
