Shirin Neshat: "The Fury"

Last night’s opening of Shirin Neshat’s exhibition The Fury was a truly incredible experience! In addition to a double-channel video installation, the show includes a series of black-and-white photographs with hand-drawn calligraphy of poems by Iranian poet Forough Farrokhzad on top of the images. Focusing on the female body as “both a battleground for ideology and a source of strength,” Shirin’s work addresses issues of power within her native Iran and patriarchal societies across the globe.

It was an absolute delight to work with Shirin on this project and we are so happy that it has reached its finished form!

The Fury runs until March 4, 2023 at Gladstone Gallery, 515 West 24th Street, Manhattan.
